New data has revealed the best performing third-party titles that launched with the Switch 2 on June 5, with Deltarune and Fortnite leading the pack.

Newzoo product manager Max Otten used the platform’s Game Performance Monitor to provide GamesIndustry.biz with an analysis of the digital sales of Switch 2 third-party launch titles on the US eShop across the whole of June 2025. Physical game sales are not included in the data.

The top ranking third-party Switch 2 launch games by units sold in June were as follows:

  1. Deltarune
  2. Hogwarts Legacy
  3. Fast Fusion
  4. Cyberpunk 2077
  5. Split Fiction
  6. Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma
  7. Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster
  8. Street Fighter 6
  9. Hitman World of Assassination
  10. Yakuza 0
  11. Sid Meier’s Civilization 7
  12. Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess
  13. Survival Kids
  14. Sonic X Shadow Generations

Leading the pack for units sold is Toby Fox’s indie hit Deltarune, while Hogwarts Legacy comes in at number two. Hogwarts Legacy was released on the original Switch, but it received a Switch 2 edition on June 5, with a $10 upgrade available for those who had already purchased the title on Switch.

Newzoo notes the upgrade pack wasn’t counted in their units sold figures for Hogwarts Legacy, since the firm considers it as DLC, but it was counted in their calculations for total revenue for Hogwarts Legacy.

Survival Kids

At the bottom of the list are Sonic X Shadow Generations and Survival Kids – the first game Unity has developed in 20 years. Survival Kids, which launched at a $49.99 price point, was one of a handful of Switch 2 titles that implemented GameShare, allowing users to play together on multiple Switch 2 consoles with just one copy of the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 is unsurprisingly in the top five. But what is somewhat surprising is that the Switch 2-exclusive racing game Fast Fusion outsold it in units.

Units sold, however, don’t necessarily equate to revenue, and while Fast Fusion may have sold more than Cyberpunk, it didn’t generate more money.

Here are the Switch 2 third-party launch games ranked by total revenue in on the US eShop:

  1. Fortnite
  2. Deltarune
  3. Cyberpunk 2077
  4. Hogwarts Legacy
  5. Split Fiction
  6. Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma
  7. Streetfighter 6
  8. Fast Fusion
  9. Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster
  10. Sid Meier’s Civilization 7
  11. Hitman World of Assassination
  12. Yakuza 0
  13. Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess
  14. Survival Kids
  15. Sonic X Shadow Generations

As a free-to-play game, Fortnite was not included in the units sold chart, but it still dominated the total revenue in June.

Deltarune is the real overall winner here, with the top spot for units sold and a close second for total revenue. But as with the units sold chart, Survival Kids and Sonic X Shadow Generations remain in the bottom two spaces.

Newzoo’s analysis of the Switch 2 third-party titles concluded that technical upgrades drive engagement spikes from returning players. And while first-party Nintendo games still dominate the ecosystem, the Switch 2 is drawing new and diverse audiences, with traction for non-traditional Switch titles.

Newzoo said that “these early signals suggest a broader opportunity for third-party developers than we’ve seen on previous Nintendo platforms, especially for well-optimized, genre-expanding games.”
