Amazon Prime has renewed its Fallout adaptation for a third season, and shared a launch window for season two.

The streaming service announced the news yesterday at its upfront presentation, revealing that Fallout’s second series will debut in December 2025.

The next installment will see Lucy (Ella Purnell), The Ghoul (Walton Goggins), and Maximus (Aaron Moten) travel to New Vegas – a setting introduced in the 2010 spin-off Fallout: New Vegas developed by Obsidian Entertainment.

Created by its showrunners Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Fallout is executive produced by Jonathan Nolan, Lisa Joy, and Athena Wickham.

The show is produced by Nolan and Joy’s Kilter Films in collaboration with Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks.

“We are absolutely thrilled that [viewers] will be able to delve deeper into the wonderfully surreal and captivating world of Fallout,” said Amazon MGM global head of television Vernon Sanders.

“Jonathan, Lisa, Geneva, and Graham have done an exceptional job bringing this beloved video game franchise to vivid life on Prime Video.

“Together with our amazing partners at Bethesda Games and Bethesda Softworks, we are delighted to announce a third season of Fallout, well ahead of the much-anticipated debut of season two.”

The first series of Fallout premiered on April 10, 2024. It was renewed for a second season nine days later, with the first season amassing 65 million viewers in its first two weeks.

As a result of the adaptation’s success, the video game series saw a surge in players with Fallout Shelter’s daily revenue reaching $80,000 and sales of Fallout games increasing across Europe in April 2024 with Fallout 4 taking the top spot.
